The Baroque Queen

Scandinavia’s unquestionable international baroque queen is on stage in the Freemason’s Lodge!

The incredible Ann Hallenberg is one of the largest international names in baroque opera today. Her last CD, ‘Carnevale 1729’ (released 2017) has received enormous international attention and won one distinction after the other. On Thursday 1 February she visits Trondheim for the first time, to fill the Freemason’s Lodge with the wonderful sound that has enchanted music lovers all over the world. Ann Hallenberg has, in particular, distinguished herself with the repertoire associated with the greatest singer of the baroque, the castrato Farinelli. It is with this dramatic and passionate, but also incredibly demanding and impressive repertoire that she has been hailed as one of our foremost. Hallenberg comes to Trondheim with music by Handel and Vivaldi, but also by Porpora, one of the composers who wrote for the aforementioned castrato Farinelli.
