Bach’s Cello Suites
Bach’s legendary cello suites are considered by many as the most beautiful works of classical music. Norway’s very own baroque cellist, Tormod Dalen, here performs three of these enigmatic solo works for cello. Originally from Trondheim, Dalen has been one of the most prominent cellists in the Parisian leading baroque orchestras for decades, regularly appearing as solo cellist, especially with the orchestra Le Concert Spirituel. After a long period of immersion in the very special dance characters of the Bach suites, he has recently released a CD with the first three suites. For this concert Dalen has selected three of the most eloquent suites, number two, three and four.
