Coronation Anthems and theatre music by Purcell!
Robert Hollingworth returns to Barokkfest with a program featuring two major figures of British music: Händel and Purcell. The Coronation Anthems are among the most beloved works of Händel. They are here paired, rather unusually, with Purcell’s stage music. Adding a playful touch to the seriousness of the royal wedding music, Hollingworth thus offers a fresh approach to these major figures of British music. Hollingworth conducts TSO Tidlig, the early music band of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera and Trondheim Vocal Ensemble.
